Pyjama Party

Monday night saw the realisation of our eagerly-anticipated Pyjama Party.  This was definitely the perfect event for our students, given their inexhaustible love of dance!
The room was decorated using material produced by the students themselves during the Arts and Crafts workshop for last week’s Open Stage event.  The students who had been involved in the creation of these decorations seemed very pleased to see them take pride of place on the walls of our Party Room! Drawings of cuddly teddies beamed down at the dancers from one wall; a king-size bed brightened another. Let’s not forget the colourful welcome and Goodnight signs, also the work of our talented students!

Finally provided with an excellent chance to get to know one another and socialise with their peers, our French and German students did not hesitate in lighting up the dance floor together! There was much fun had by everyone and wall-to-wall smiles! It was wonderful to see how well all our students got one with one another and to witness their impressive enthusiasm and energy! Although the Ocean had been made inviting with water and a mouth-watering selection of fruit for all and chairs and blankets had been placed on the floor of the Party Room for when the students started to get tired and needed a break from all that dancing, the vast majority of students arrived bang on time at 7.30pm and partied on until the very end of the night, never leaving the dance floor so much as once to catch their breath!
The atmosphere inside the room was contagious! Even as the temperature inside rose dramatically, the students continued to dance their hearts out – the guys in our new French group’s answer to the problem was to rip off their shirts and just continue strutting their stuff!
Even when it reached 10pm, none of  our students were anywhere near ready to slip under their covers and say “Goodnight” – they kept begging us for one last song, just one more last song, pleeaaaasee!  The night was a huge success!
