Wir freuen uns auf die Saison 2012, denn neun exzellente IP Reporter werden uns mit den neuesten und heißesten Infos von unseren Kursorten versorgen.

Anlässlich unseres Wettbewerbs „Become our IP Reporter!“ sind zahlreiche interessante Bewerbungen um die Stelle als IP Reporter bei uns eingegangen. Wichtige Kriterien waren für uns Mehrsprachigkeit und Überzeugungskraft, denn wir erwarten spannende und mitreißende Berichte. Im Gegenzug spendieren wir unseren Reportern die Sprachreise, von der sie berichten.

In einem langen und umfangreichen Auswahlprozess haben wir uns für folgende Gewinner entschieden:

Gut Drauf in Osterode

16 years ago the Federal Centre for Health Education established the concept of “Gut Drauf”, which is part of the International Projects’ concept since 2009. This concept offers perfect possibilities of a balanced combination and integration of exercise, healthy nutrition and relaxation in young people’s living. The daily program in your language club incorporates these three elements perfectly.
The afternoon activities include games like tennis, soccer, basketball and volleyball as well as trips to the beach or the hills where you can walk, swim or climb. During the whole day, fresh fruits, juices and vegetables are available for small healthy snacks in form of an apple cake, banana shake or a plum to go. Moreover, there is always time and a location to calm down, relax and to talk in a warm atmosphere.
Therefore, “Gut Drauf” improves the feeling of body and soul and supports your well being.
Furthermore International Projects wants the students to learn how to use this concept in their everyday life, to show how the combination of exercise, healthy nutrition and relaxation improves the quality of life, health and mood.
The students learn different ways how to prepare a healthy meal and how to use fruits in different ways. A delicious pie with fruits for the favourite coffee break, a sweet juicy fruit salad or fruit cocktails.
The “Gut Drauf” concept will playfully become part of each student’s life.
You will have a great summer vacation, improve your language skills meet new friends and learn how to integrate the healthy lifestyle in your everyday life- and maybe in the life of your family and friends.

Du bist gut drauf, ernährst dich gern gesund, hast Spaß an Sport, entspannst aber auch mal gerne? OFFÄHRTE Sprachreisen ist jetzt von der Bundeszentrale für gesundheitliche Aufklärung als „gut drauf“ zertifiziert worden.

Was heißt eigentlich „gut drauf“ zertifiziert? Diese Kampagne beschäftigt mit Ernährung, Bewegung und Entspannung bei Jugendlichen zwischen 12 – und 18 Jahren. Dabei wird vor allem viel Wert auf die Gesundheit gelegt und dass die Jugendlichen lernen, eigenverantwortlicher mit dem Thema Körper, Geist und Seele umzugehen und wissen, was ihrem Körper gut tut.
In unseren ip Clubs kann also mit aktiven Sprachferien gerechnet werden. Neben den Sprachunterricht ist ein aus¬gewogenes und erlebnisorientiertes Programm wichtig, deswegen haben wir auch viele verschiedene Sportmöglichkeiten im Angebot, wie Basketball, Fußball, Volleyball…, bei denen man sich gut verausgaben kann. Andererseits haben wir auch Ruhezonen eingerichtet, wie die „ip Ocean-Lounges“, in denen man sich wunderbar zurückziehen kann. Zusätzlich gibt es Workshops, in denen Yoga oder auch Wellness-Elemente unterrichtet werden, welche den Entspannungsbereich abrunden. Bei Mahlzeiten und Snacks kommen Obst, Gemüse, Salate oder Müsli auf den Tisch. Außerdem hat man auch zwischendurch auch immer die Chance auf etwas Grünes und Gesundes.

Gut Drauf in Bournemouth

The Gut Drauf programme in the IP centre in Bournemouth has been full of healthy highlights this week and it has featured plenty of enjoyable moments for students and members of staff alike.
To start with, last week we had an amazingly entertaining yoga session with Yani followed by a tea relaxation session, all this accompanied by a mysteriously soothing natural sounds released from our CD player. The students were also involved in a unique dream journey courtesy of Mareen, our wonderfully cheerful supervisor.

Then, this week we have had an energizing outdoor basketball session with Anett, which visibly fascinated some of the locals so much, that they took part in the competition. It was only the setting sun and the deficiency of light what prevented the students from playing until later.

The same happened with our soccer in the park session on Tuesday, which attracted some students from other language schools. The enthusiasm students showed about the game was astounding. As Carlo from Switzerland remarked after the game, we may all speak different languages but everyone speaks the language of sport. Once again we proved that sport is like Nokia – connecting people.

On Wednesday we had a relaxing natural beauty therapy workshop with Urenna. Students evidently enjoyed it a great deal and took loads of pictures. They had a lot of fun preparing beauty ointments out of exotic fruits like avocados and bananas and then slathering dollops of the balmy mixture onto their faces. After this amusing workshop many of them were up for some sleep in our gorgeous chill-out lounge.

The fantastic weather on Thursday allowed for a revitalizing beach volleyball and Frisbee session on the beach, followed by some peaceful basking and sand castle building on the sandy beach of sunny Bournemouth. As a result, our students can now boast with their healthy English tan when they go back home.

A recent innovation in the nutrition component of our Gut Drauf programme is the variety of fruits we offer. This week we tried offering students plums, peaches and vegetables and these seem to be a great success. They are gone moments after having being placed on the tables.

After a week of so many exciting activities and innovations we can definitely say that now we and our students feel hale and hearty and full of energy for the forthcoming weeks.

Chichester zeigt viele Talente

On the 29th of July, the IP centre in Chichester was host to its second Open Stage event of the season! Our students prepared for the evening during drama, singing, dance and arts and crafts workshops offered by their IP activity team in the afternoon. Determined to be involved, even some of the students who had been on a trip to Arundel in the afternoon came along to showcase their amazing talent!

First up were the group christened the “Snails” with their dramatic adaptation of the age-old fairytale “Cinderella”. It was wonderful to see how brilliantly imaginative our students were! They modernised the story, presenting a trainer as Cinderella’s glass slipper and playing James Blunt’s “Beautiful” when the prince met Cinderella at the ball “You’re beautiful, you’re beautiful, it’s true!” – “Ooooh, she’s so beautiful!”

This first act was an exciting taste of what was to follow throughout the rest of the evening – our students absolutely shone! It was their night and they really made the most of it! They had all worked very hard to prepare their pieces and this definitely showed on the night! They also did a fantastic job of involving other students (and often members of the IP activity team, too!) in their acts, especially the now famous (at least within the walls of IP centres!) Ding-A-Dong dance!

The “Penguins” were another group which showed their loyalty to IP with the “Gut Drauf” lines in their version of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarves” – Snow White’s stepmother beseeched her daughter to return to her: “Please come back to me! What are you eating with those dwarves? Chips, cola – that’s not healthy! Even if you don’t come back home, do yourself a favour and live a good life – eat fruit!” Sadly for our Snow White, the apple her stepmother gave her provided her with vitamins she had denied herself for a long time by eating too much fast food with the dwarves, and she collapsed as a result of this. However, there was a happy ending to this tragic tale and Snow White was soon revived, much to the delight of her prince!

Another special mention has to be given to the students who prepared something by themselves. Alessio stunned his audience with his massive musical talent, delighting all his listeners with his renditions of not one but two very challenging pieces! Philipp offered a breath-taking Kung Fu demonstration with impressive high kicks that left everyone shaking in their boots and hoping they could stay in his good books! “Project Llama” was equally entertaining – a small group of students had dressed themselves up in blankets and walked around town taking photos of each other doing different things, such as “Llama call llama”, “Llamas in Top Shop”, “Llama buy map”, “Llamas spat too much”, the latter being followed by “Police like llamas”. We all almost fell off our chairs, we were laughing so hard!

Second week in Chichester

The second week in Chichester is almost over. We had a great variety of evening events and afternoon activities, for example: swimming at the leisure centre in Chichester, Volleyball, Basketball, Chi-Newspaper, Casino Night, Chichester’s got Talent…

We are lucky with the weather because the sun is always shining and there was only one rainy day during the week.
As you can see in the following pictures, we have a lot of fun with the students who are in Chichester right now and we are looking forward to welcome the new arrivals from Germany, Poland, France and Italy on the coming weekend.

Volles Programm im Englisch-Camp Bournemouth

Saturday 27^th June: Our first Saturday turned out to be quite relaxing, since the students arrived later than planned – following the unexpected coach breakdown in Belgium. Once the students had all checked in, however, everything ran smoothly. The evening began with the welcome meeting in the park, and ended with a guided town walk of Bournemouth. The students were all very excited to see the sea and the beach for the first time! Luckily, it was a sunny day. In fact, we have been extremely fortunate with the weather for the whole of this week.

Sunday 28^th June: We took the students to the beach in the afternoon, where we got them to find out more about each other via a speed networking session. This was followed by some beach games. In the evening, we had a gorgeous BBQ on the beach which involved eating cookies and roasting marshmallows over the fire as the sun set

Monday 29^th June: In the afternoon, the students participated in helping us to decorate the Ocean. This is a snapshot of their masterpiece:

Then our dear students could attend the welcome party with our wonderful chorography on “Ding a Dong”, the summer 2009 new IP song! The music was provided both by IP Team and students, who particularly enjoyed the German house music. Many students are expected to attend the next welcome party on Monday (with a special theme still being kept secret for the moment ).

Tuesday 30^th June: The students got the opportunity to do some watercolour painting. As you can see, they were very creative!

In the evening, we all relaxed in the park for some all-important ‘Gut Drauf’. I.e. various Kick games plus Yani’s famous pizza massage It was great seeing the students learn and play what we ourselves had learnt in the training week in Chichester.

Wednesday 1^st July: Today, we said goodbye to Lea since she was only staying with us for a week. We will miss her!

The students then went treasure hunting, where they all found some gold of course!

Thursday 2^nd July:

During this evening, we gave the students the chance to relax…but only physically! Mentally, we tested their knowledge in a quiz with 35 questions about music, England, popular culture and celebrities! The winners, the “salt and vinegar crisps” team, won a great (and healthy) prize, since we can’t forget about the importance of Gut Drauf!

Bei der Teamer – Ausbildung 2009 in Chichester mussten unsere angehenden Teamer eine “Gut-Drauf” – Party organisieren. Hier ein paar Eindrücke von den Vorbereitungen:

Chaos Frühstück in Osterode

In IP Osterode everything was creative, even activities like eating!

The team turned it into an exciting game. „Gog gog gog“, was the chicken shouting when the students have stolen their eggs!

All students had to get through a couple of stations to get the food for breakfast. Once passed the entrance and got a coffee after throwing a ball into a basket, the students could increase their food plate by passing the yoghurt path or get through the muesli circle. A lot of fun was the breakfast on the ground with blancets and the sun was shining on the tired faces of the students which got later solved with the „Kick“ – a human snake, which wants to catch theirselves tail.
