Joker gesucht! Für wenig Geld an die Englische Südküste

Offaehrte Sprachreisen feiert dieses Jahr 25jähriges Bestehen und um das zu feiern, haben wir die 25th Deals eingerichtet. Zu jedem 25. des Monats haben wir uns für Euch eine Überraschung überlegt.

Diesen Monat dealen wir mit Joker-Sprachreisen.
Joker-Sprachreise heißt eine Sprachreise nach England zu buchen, ohne den genauen Kursort zu kennen. Dieser wird euch circa vier Wochen vor Abreise mitgeteilt. Zur Auswahl stehen unsere eigenen Sprachschulen in Winchester, Bournemouth, Exmouth, Teignmouth, Chichester und Exeter. Uns ist klar, dass wir damit viel Flexilibität und Spontaneität von euch abverlangen, aber das soll belohnt werden. Unsere Joker-Sprachreisen kosten euch nur 599€ bis 999€, heißt ihr spart bis zu 394€!

Eine Joker-Sprachreise beinhaltet einen Englisch-Intensivkurs (20 Unterrichtsstunden pro Woche) und ist für ein oder zwei Wochen buchbar. In der ersten Stunde werdet Ihr in verschiedene Niveaugruppen eingeteilt, damit der Unterricht auf Eure individuellen Stärken und Schwächen abgestimmt werden kann. Nur 15 Schüler, meist aus verschiedenen Ländern, werden zusammen unterrichtet. Von dem Frontalunterricht, den Ihr aus der Schule kennt, könnt ihr euch getrost verabschieden. Auf einer Schülersprachreise bringen euch qualifizierte Muttersprachler animativ und lebensnah Englisch bei.
Ein abwechslungsreiches und internationales Freizeitprogramm mit Sport, Quiz-Nights, Work-Shops und vieles mehr sorgt für das lang ersehnte Feriengefühl – egal wohin es euch verschlägt.
Ob Du in einer Gastfamilie echtes englisches Flair erlebst oder gemeinsam mit anderen Sprachschülern in einer Residence untergebracht wirst, ist auch bei einer Joker-Sprachreise frei wählbar.

Eins haben die Kursorte noch gemeinsam: Alle liegen in Südengland, haben also eine wunderschöne Umgebung zu bieten mit der steifen Brise der Küste. Was deinen Kursort speziell ausmacht, wirst du vor Ort entdecken.

Ein Fleckchen Unabhängigkeit im Ärmelkanal

Kennst du schon die Kanalinseln zwischen England und Frankreich? Jersey ist die größte und glänzt mit Sonnenreichtum, langen Stränden und in Sachen Eigensinn können sich selbst die Briten noch etwas bei den Jeseryanern abgucken.
Unser neues Ziel aus dem Repertoire Schülersprachreisen nach England gehört genau genommen gar nicht zu England. Die Insel ist nicht nur viel sonniger als das Britische Festland, es gehört politisch gesehen auch gar nicht zum Vereinten Königreich. Nah an Frankreich gelegen, sind Französisch und Englisch die Amtsprachen und die Insel ist zwar der britischen Krone unterstellt (crown dependency), aber nicht dem britischen Parlament. Somit ist Jesey auch EU-freies Territorium.
Die Queen hat also auch hier das sagen, der Britische Pfund dafür eher wenig. Zwar wird die Währung in den meisten Shops akzeptiert, aber Jersey hat natürlich auch seine eigene, nämlich den Jesey-Pfund-Sterling.
Stolz sind die Einwohner auf ihre Heimat mit Persönlichkeit. Der Mix aus französischen und britischen Einfluss und die grenzenlose Gastfreundschaft ist nicht ein zweites Mal zu finden in Europa.

Da das Französisch auf Jersey Dialekt geprägt und somit weit entfernt vom Schulfranzösisch ist, bieten wir auf der Kanalinsel einen Englischkurs an. Im Rahmen eines Standardkurses kannst du dein Englisch in den Ferien aufbessern und gleichzeitig das Inselfeeling genießen. Lange Strände, Meer, Sonne und zahlreiche Freizeitmöglichkeiten warten auf dich. Unser Freizeitprogramm ist auch hier sportlich. Die Insel lädt zum Surfen, Beachvolleyball spielen und Canoeing ein, aber auch Filmnights und Discos sind im Programm zu finden.
Durch die Nähe zu Frankreich, wirst du während der Schülersprachreise auch Tagesausflüge in französisches Territorium erleben: Saint Malo und die französische Bretagne liegen in unmittelbarer Nähe.
Generell ist die Insel ein Erlebnisparadies für Jugendliche und lockt dementsprechend viele an. Internationaler und jugendlicher Flair sind also garantiert.

Wohnen wirst du in der hübschen Inselhauptstadt St. Helier. Das Hotel, das wir für euch ausgesucht haben, liegt nur 10 Minuten Fußweg vom Zentrum entfernt. Die 5 Kilometer zum St. Brelade’s College, wo der Sprachkurs stattfindet, bringt dich der Schulbus.

Klimacamp auf Englisch für 8- bis 14-Jährige in Bremerhaven

Der Bremer Veranstalter Offaehrte Sprachreisen bietet im kommenden Sommer einen Sprachurlaub der besondern Art an. 8- bis 14-Jährige haben die Möglichkeit an einer Themenwoche rund um Klima und Wetter teilzunehmen und gleichzeitig ihre Englischkenntnisse vertiefen.

In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Klimahaus Bremerhaven 8° Ost® und dem Umweltschutzamt Bremerhaven organisiert der Spezialist für Sprachreisen ein Klimacamp, wo Sprachunterricht und der verantwortungsvolle Umgang mit dem Klima verknüpft werden.

Die Freizeitaktivitäten sind sorgfältig ausgewählt. Für die Jüngeren steht ein Wetterworkshop mit eigener Wettermoderation auf dem Programm, während die Älteren das Alfred-Wegener-Institut für Polar- und Meeresforschung besuchen. Sprachurlauber aller Alterstufen haben die Möglichkeit im Klimahaus Versuche an Experimentierstationen zu erproben und hautnah das Lebensgefühl anderer Klimazonen zu erleben. Während einer GPS-Ralley durch Bremerhaven werden die aktuellen Auswirkungen des Klimawandels erkundet.

Der 20-stündige Englischunterricht wird von muttersprachlichen Lehrern geleitet und findet in den Räumen der Hochschule Bremerhaven statt. Den Jüngeren wird von deutschen Englischlehrern ein erstes Gefühl für die Fremdsprache vermittelt. Um die neuen Kenntnisse direkt anwenden zu können, finden die Freizeitaktivitäten weitgehend auf Englisch statt.

Die Teilnehmer werden im modernen Havenhostel mit Blick auf die Weser untergebracht. Die alte Marinekaserne bietet maritimes Flair und ist auch aus ökologischen Aspekten korrekt ausgestattet. Für alle, die in der Umgebung von Bremerhaven wohnen, bietet Offaehrte das Klimacamp auch als Day-Camp, also ohne Übernachtung, an.

Lerncamps in Deutschland

Du willst noch nicht gleich ins Ausland oder findest die deutschen Städte auch verlockend? Dann bist du in einem unseren drei verschiedenen Lerncamps in Lübeck, Schierke oder Creglingen genau richtig aufgehoben. Hier kannst du intensives Sprachtraining mit einem spannenden Freizeitprogramm verbinden. In jeder Stadt wartet ein besonderes Angebot auf dich. So haben wir in Lübeck, der Stadt des Marzipans, die richtige Kulisse für Benimmregeln, Tischmanieren und Umgangsformen. Hier steht „Gutes Benehmen“ im Vordergrund.

In Schierke im Harz dreht sich das ganze Programm um Sport und Bewegung. Es gibt viele verschiedene Sportmöglichkeiten und als Highlight gibt es auch Kletterunterricht von einem Lehrer.
Creglingen, ein kleines Örtchen im Taubertal, ist ideal für alle handwerksbegeisterten. Mit Kleber und Hammer bewaffnet, lernst du, wie man dauerhaft etwas zusammenhält, auseinander baut oder neu erschafft.
Natürlich werden bei allen Lerncamps auch noch andere Aktivitäten angeboten, wie Sport, weitere Workshops, Film Night, Open Stage, ein Grillfest und auch Ausflüge.
Während deines Aufenthaltes bist du in einfachen Jugendgästehäusern untergebracht. Manche haben aber auch noch besondere Highlights. So ist bei allen ein Billardtisch, Tischtennis, Darts oder Kicker mit dabei und bei Schierke im Harz steht sogar eine Bowlingbahn mit zur Verfügung.
Bei allen drei Camps kannst du deine Sprachkenntnisse aufbessern, vormittags hast du Unterricht und am Nachmittag kannst du deine Englischfertigkeiten weiter bei deinem Themenworkshop und bei dem Freizeitprogramm üben. So hat man den ganzen Tag über einen ganzheitlichen Lernprozess und kann zugleich eine Menge Spaß haben.

Pyjama Party in Bournemouth

Another fun- filled week in the sunny IP Bournemouth. The week kicked off with the making of friendship bracelets. We had beautiful bright colours of wools and beads as the students took the opportunity to show off their creativity. Some made bracelets for their loved ones back at home and others exchanged bracelets with their new found friends.
The evening event ‘the Pyjama Party’ was admittedly one of the funniest and most enjoyable parties we have had so far. The Ocean was transformed into a big, cosy and relaxing bedroom with colourful balloons and cuddly teddy bears. The students arrived properly dressed for the occasion in their ‘PJs’ and as usual, they danced, danced and danced as they enjoyed the freshly prepared energy bursting fruits and vegetables.

The Henna Tattoo workshop is definitely one to be mentioned. The students were eager for a temporary body art experience and as usual our creative IP team did not fail to perform, the students were filled with smiles and excited about their new and cool tattoos.

On Thursday, we attended the Bournemouth air festival, which is the UK’s biggest free aviation Festival. We enjoyed the breath – taking aviation action! It surely was exciting to witness the awesome air displays, attraction and fantastic evening entertainment as well as the firework world record attempt.

How else to end an amazing week than to enjoy a group Ice skating activity? The week was amazing and now we can’t wait to get to know what the IP team has prepared for next week.

Letzte Woche in Exmouth

Last week in Exmouth

The last days in Exmouth have been very active with many different workshops and exciting evening activities. Having started with a Twister night on Saturday the students already got an initial feeling for the active upcoming activities.
One highlight was the Cluedo night. Turning the board game into a real life play, the students had to find out who murdered Taz by asking questions to the team and combining their answers.

Trips to Exeter, Dartmoor and Torquay gave the students the possibility to discover more of Devon and enjoy the beautiful landscape and the shopping facilities.

With two dancing workshops in Jump Style and Rock ‘n’ Roll the students were well prepared for being on stage during the Bad Taste Farewell Party on Thursday. Being dressed in garbage bags and wearing socks in Flip Flops the students enjoyed the night with the X-Mouth picture frame, a catwalk and limbo dance. Finally, everyone could remember the last two weeks during the picture slideshow.

Gut Drauf in Bournemouth

The Gut Drauf programme in the IP centre in Bournemouth has been full of healthy highlights this week and it has featured plenty of enjoyable moments for students and members of staff alike.
To start with, last week we had an amazingly entertaining yoga session with Yani followed by a tea relaxation session, all this accompanied by a mysteriously soothing natural sounds released from our CD player. The students were also involved in a unique dream journey courtesy of Mareen, our wonderfully cheerful supervisor.

Then, this week we have had an energizing outdoor basketball session with Anett, which visibly fascinated some of the locals so much, that they took part in the competition. It was only the setting sun and the deficiency of light what prevented the students from playing until later.

The same happened with our soccer in the park session on Tuesday, which attracted some students from other language schools. The enthusiasm students showed about the game was astounding. As Carlo from Switzerland remarked after the game, we may all speak different languages but everyone speaks the language of sport. Once again we proved that sport is like Nokia – connecting people.

On Wednesday we had a relaxing natural beauty therapy workshop with Urenna. Students evidently enjoyed it a great deal and took loads of pictures. They had a lot of fun preparing beauty ointments out of exotic fruits like avocados and bananas and then slathering dollops of the balmy mixture onto their faces. After this amusing workshop many of them were up for some sleep in our gorgeous chill-out lounge.

The fantastic weather on Thursday allowed for a revitalizing beach volleyball and Frisbee session on the beach, followed by some peaceful basking and sand castle building on the sandy beach of sunny Bournemouth. As a result, our students can now boast with their healthy English tan when they go back home.

A recent innovation in the nutrition component of our Gut Drauf programme is the variety of fruits we offer. This week we tried offering students plums, peaches and vegetables and these seem to be a great success. They are gone moments after having being placed on the tables.

After a week of so many exciting activities and innovations we can definitely say that now we and our students feel hale and hearty and full of energy for the forthcoming weeks.

Schüler genießen die Sonne in Teignmouth

Week five in Teignmouth and sadly almost the last one
Since August, the weather has been changed drastically and so far, most of the days are sunny and warm. We are enjoying the beach almost every day with swimming, digging in the sand, building sand castles and having a lot of ice cream there.

Also our trips, the sports and the pool is much more fun in the sun instead in the rain!! There was a exhibition / fair taking place this week in the town center of Teignmouth and we also went there every.
The mask workshop was great too and we got some nice hands and faces.
The soccer students got a new trainer and he is keen on organizing a wide evening program with cinema, exhibition, bowling and other things.
On the weekend a lot of students will go back home and so we are going to be a smaller group next week.

Friendship Bracelets Workshop

Nobody could have anticipated the number of students who turned up to participate in Wednesday afternoon’s Friendship Bracelets Workshop! Running alongside the various sporting activities on offer, we had decided to hold the workshop in question as a quieter alternative to cater for all our students’ varied interests.
We knew that it had been a great idea when we saw all the students sitting waiting for us in the Ocean, waiting to let their creative juices flow!

It is amazing what one can do with just the basics, i.e. wool, scissors, cellotape and some beads. However, the finished products highlighted our students’ talent and creativity once again! Given a few hints and ideas and the equipment mentioned, our students gave the activity their full concentration and let their imaginations run wild! Bracelets made ranged from simple and yet beautiful pleated and twist designs to those demanding very challenging and complex knotting techniques, all of which our students mastered in record time!
Many of the students who attended stayed for the whole three hours. At the end of this time, there was no one left in the room without a colourful bracelet around their wrist and, due to their generosity and friendly natures, the students also presented one another with their creation to seal blossoming international friendships. Several were also kind enough to give their IP team the thoughtful gifts! It would seem that this workshop even inspired some students to take up the craft as a long-term hobby, as pieces of wool and even more new bracelets and smiles are now to be found all over Chichester’s campus!

Flower Power im IP Ocean Bournemouth

One more week has passed, and the half-way point reached! With students, group leaders, and IP team members leaving, it really does feel very different each week. Leonie, Luisa, Nicolas and Fabian – we will truly miss you!! Leaving that aside, what else happened in Bournemouth as we left the month of July and entered August?
Our Flower Power welcome party was a huge success. Students came dressed in bright and colourful hippy clothes, and all sorts of flowers lined the walls of the Ocean. In the afternoon, several students had helped us with the party preparation, and they also made flower chains for themselves to wear in the evening. Before everyone entered the hall, each person became the centre of their very own special IP flower !

On Tuesday, some of the students took a trip to Salisbury. They were all stunned into silence by the beauty of the cathedral – especially the unique fountain inside. The IP team took their opportunity to do some shopping as well.

The karaoke night on Wednesday evening was fun. The Spanish group sang ‘Venga Boys – Boom! Boom! Boom!’, whilst the IP team also contributed by singing Britney’s ‘I’m not a Girl’. During the day, students were able to relax by drinking cups of tea, being massaged and undergoing Yoga exercises which were led by our very own Yani.

On Thursday, students had the chance to create their own postcard. Using photos of Bournemouth from brochures, they demonstrated their creativity in making some very attractive postcards for their friends and family. In the evening, the Ocean was transformed into a casino, with top prizes on offer for the 3 students who won the most money. By the end, we had some expert Poker and BlackJack players!

We held a ‘Create your own IP Diary’ workshop on Friday, in which the students could, for example, write down the highlights from their stay, and the contact details of the new friends they had made.

The week ended with a bang, as many students danced the night away and watched the fireworks on the beach.
