The warm weather in Cornwall was perfect for spending the afternoon at the beach. As well as activities like playing ball games the students used the opportunity to bury Lea in the sand. Immediately she was buried under a huge mountain of sand. Especially the boys were excited about the immobility of the member of staff and so they carried on with shovelling sand on her. The girls were sitting on top of a wall and laughed on what is going on. It took a while before she could rescue herself but it was great fun.
After a very nice trip to Penzance in the afternoon and discovering the shops, beaches and the harbor in this cornish city the people in Cornwall got excited at the soccer match. Especially the girls enjoyed the play a lot and performed sometimes better than the boys – not only during the game, also at the performances on the goal!
The trip to Plymouth started with a visit to a place of historical
importance: the Mayflower Steps. Here the Pilgrim Fathers left England on the Mayflower to settle in North America in 1620. It continued with a walk to a lighthouse, the Smeaton’s Tower. We had our lunch at the grass by the shore and enjoyed the view at the sea. After that, everyone had the possibility to discover the town on their own or go shopping. All in all we had great fun and the best weather.
The folks in Cornwall couln’t stop singing – the karaoke night was an event nobody could imagine. Hits and Evergreens were sung in all variations and everybody just loved it! But singing was not the only entertaining on this evening…
If you head so far west, that there is not more way to go, you will end up in Land’s End – the western beginning and ending of England. A group of wind resistant people joined the trip to this place and enjoyed the scenic view to the high rims and rocks in the sea. The wind was strong and cold – but it could not blow away the good mood of the explorers.
The cross-dressing party was an ice-breaking and socializing event, when everybody had to lose their inhibitions and swap clothes. The afternoon workshops were provided for make up sessions in the „Beauty Salon”. The guys had to dress like girls and vice versa. The event started with a limbo entrance and a welcome drink surrounded by loud party music in the ocean. A catwalk was located in the middle of the room and the students loved to parade themselves.
Far away from the busy city London, all the way in the west, you will find Lea, Sara and Bernhard. We are a group of highly motivated Internationals from Germany, Spain and Austria.
