Teignmouth – Englische Esskultur erleben

Dieser Eintrag wurde am Freitag, August 21st, 2009 erstellt und unter England, Teignmouth abgelegt.

Last Week in Teignmouth
This week we quite often went to several coffee shops and had the so called “Cream tea”.
“Cream tea” is a typical Devon ceremony during teatime. Next to the famous English tea that is served with milk, you got the scones, which are somewhat really sweet and heavy yeast breads “Hefebroetchen” either plain or including raisins, nuts or other ingredients. On the scones, you but clotted cream that is a kind of special butter with cream and on top, there goes strawberry jam.

The students and of course also the team members all enjoyed it and for instance last Sunday when some of the students missed the breakfast due to the wish of sleeping longer, we got the Cream tea as a late breakfast in the town plus a lot of sunshine.
In addition, we tried another beach where we had to take the ferry or better said the “nutshell” to Sheldon, the small village next to Teignmouth.
Another Barth trip as well with a lot of shopping and some fast food :)
It is really really sad that the Center has to close now but we are looking forward to a new opening next year and hope that you all will be on board again!!!!!
